About Zuri Rituals
Zuri is the Swahili word for beautiful. It is one of the most used words on the island, and it gave its name to a skincare brand that was always meant to embody exactly that — the particular beauty of Zanzibar, concentrated into a bottle.
Zuri Rituals was founded in 2020 by Kulsum Jafferji, who built it from a conviction that the island's extraordinary botanical wealth deserved to be at the centre of a world-class skincare range. Every product is handmade in small batches in Zanzibar, using raw materials that are locally sourced and sustainably harvested from East Africa and beyond.
When you visit Cinnamon Spa & Hammam, every scrub, every oil, every mask used in your treatment is a Zuri Rituals creation. The products do not travel far. They are made here, used here, and available to take home from our boutique.

Every product is handcrafted on the island in small batches. This is not a claim of origin — it is a commitment to freshness, care, and connection to place. Small batches mean the highest degree of quality and attention at every stage.
Our raw materials are carefully selected from the earth and ocean. Locally sourced where possible, sustainably harvested, and chosen for their efficacy. We believe what you put on your body is as important as what you put in it.
All Zuri Rituals products are cruelty-free and free from parabens, artificial colourings, and artificial fragrances. The scent in our products comes from nature, not a laboratory.
Zanzibar is the Spice Island for a reason. The cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, and black pepper that have driven trade routes for centuries are woven into our formulations. These are not decorative additions — they are the core of what makes Zuri Rituals distinctly Zanzibari.
